Texian Postal Service
The first route, established October 1835, was one from San Felipe de Austin (close to Sealy, Texas) to the headquarters of the army, to Bexar (in San Antonio, Texas), to Velasco, and to Cantonment Jessup in Natchitoches, in the United States.

A letter was a single sheet folded over, with the address on the front, this was known as a stampless cover; envelopes did not come into use until around 1845.

Until 1845 mail to and from Texas to the United States was hand stamp as being from a foreign government.
